An ecological assessment process based on integrated remote sensing model: A case from Kaikukang-Walagan District, Greater Khingan Range, China

As the impacts of global climate change, rapid economic development, and anthropogenic activities on environment are intensifying, it is becoming increasingly apparent that we need to understand ecological conditions their responses change human disturbances. The objective this study was present an assessment Kaikukang–Walagan District using remotely sensed index (RSEI) newly introduced integrated (IEEI). This will reveal disturbances, place-specific emphasis conservation. Various data such as Landsat images, advanced spaceborne thermal emission reflection radiometer digital elevation model (ASTER GDEM), moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) water vapor products, meteorological records, soil thickness, N content were collected sampled. First, land surface temperature (LST), normalized difference vegetation (NDVI), brightness, wetness obtained. Second, RSEI determined LST, NDVI, via principal component analysis (PCA). Subsequently, IEEI derived from band operation between standardized (RSEIS) slope, data. results show mean RSEIS for 2000, 2002, 2007, 2011, 2017 ranged 0.26 0.48, coefficient variation 0.22. number areas with very good or excellent increased 2000 then fluctuated 2002 reached a peak in 2017. influence area not evident. (IEEIS) revealed most possessed conditions; fair primarily located bare surrounded by vegetation, poor distributed urban Walagan Xiufeng. It also shown suitable comprehensive incorporating multiple factors.
